La Bonanza Avocado Grilled Cheese

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of whole wheat or sourdough bread
  • 2 slices cheddar cheese (or your preferred melting cheese)
  • 1/2 La Bonanza avocado, mashed or sliced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: a squeeze of lemon juice, chili flakes

Preparation:

1. Prepare the Avocado:

Mash or slice the fresh La Bonanza avocado in a small bowl.

Season with salt, pepper, and a squeeze of lemon juice for extra brightness.

2. Butter the Bread:

Spread butter evenly on one side of each bread slice.

3. Assemble the Sandwich:

Place one slice of bread (butter side down) on a skillet.

Add cheese slices, then layer the fresh avocado evenly on top.

Top with the second slice of bread (butter side up).

4. Grill to Perfection:

Cook over medium heat for 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.

5. Slice and Serve:

Remove from heat, let it rest for a minute, then slice in half and serve warm.
